The fallout from Tim Carmody's "unprecedented" decision to stand down as Chief Justice has continued, with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk hoping a mediator will help "calm things down" with the judiciary. The Opposition says that in resigning, Justice Carmody had "taken one for the team". The attempt at straight talk from the state's politicians came the same day Justice Carmody ceased to be Chief Justice, having made his resignation offer formal on Wednesday afternoon, and attention turned to who would replace him.
